Welcome to CC, the best resource for all things cake!

The best thing you can do is set aside a whole Saturday afternoon, with a big glass of iced tea, in front of your screen and just start reading ALL of the forums and the threads. I did this when I first found CC and was just enthralled with all of the great info I found on here!

I always told my brides: "Icing is what is on the outside of the cake. Filling is what is on the inside of the cake. All icings can be used as fillings. Not all fillings can be used as icings."

Here's the Wilton site link on how to assemble tiered cakes: http://www.wilton.com/cakes/tiered-cakes/

HEre's a basic cake decorating technique page: http://www.wilton.com/decorating/
