Hello all! I'm pretty good at figuring things out for myself, but this just has me stumped. I must be missing a brain cell somewhere, but can someone help me? I need to make a cake like this:
and all I can find is a tutorial for a regular untapered tier, like this one http://www.flickr.com/photos/30279130@N02/sets/72157607165399596/ (which is great by the way and very helpful) but there has to be a trick to getting them perfect on a tapered surface.
Does anyone have experience with this? Is there a master stripe that you start with, and cut all the rest according to that one strip? Surely you can't start at 4 different points (like that tutorial) and have them come together perfectly.

I just found that Planet Cake teaches how to do this. Wish I wasn't 3000 miles away! I hope someone can help me. Like I said, I basically figure things out on my own, but this is just confusing me!
