red velvet and white? I'm going to making my little girl's first birthday cake and the main cake will be bottom layer white, and top layer red velvet. I want to use the left over batter to make her smash cake. Has anyone ever mixed those two to make a marble cake?

I don't see why you couldn't. Red Velvet is just a mild chocolate cake that is colored red. icon_smile.gif

yep, I've also marbled red velvet and dk. chocolate cake (very pretty once cut) and it tastes awesome.

Also marbled strawb. and lemon cake
white choc. rasp. and chocolate cake (my top selling marble cake)
chocolate cake w/ orange cake (flavored w/ orange jello)
chocolate cake w/ cherry cake (again....cherry jello)
white caramel cake w/ choc. cake (YUM)

you can "marble' anything your heart desires!!

Although I did have a request for lemon cake and chocolate cake marbled and with a lemon filling.......I warned them that it didn't seem like a good combo.......but they absolutely LOVED it........so much so that I had to try some scraps and I thought it was disgusting! But, to each his own!
