Is there a difference between royal icing that is used for cookies and the royal icing that is used for cake decorating? I know theres a difference in consistency but is there a difference in recipe? Also does anyone have a recipe for royal icing they would recommend? thanks for the help!
same thing, different consistancies. i cheat, and buy a ready made mix in the supermarket!
I royal I use is found here on cc in the recipe section by antonia74. It is the best! I use it for cookies, royal icing transfers, drop flowers, whatever.
I use Wilton's recipe.
1lb powder sugar, 3T meringue powder and 5-6 Tablespoons water. Mixed for 7 to 10 mins.
