Hi...I am brand new to this cake making thing and I have a request for a beach ball cake. My customer wants the beach ball on top of a sheet cake. Questions...
1.What size cake will feed 50
2. How many cake mixes will do I need for a 12x18 cake pan?
3. How long do I bake a 12x18 cake?

I'm sure I'll have more questions...thank you!!!

the 12x18, is about 3 cake mixes, depending on the flavor of cake, and I bake mine for 50 mins (but I live on a mnt. higher altitude) the 12x18 will feed 50

Thank you so much for your response! I really appreciate it. Do you ever put pudding in your cake mixes for moisture? I didn't know if I needed to do that for such a big cake. Are flower nails NECESSARY in baking a cake that big? Thank you again!

I have tried the pudding mix and I think it makes the cakes icky-moist, rather unpleasant in my opinion!
Yes, definitely a flower nail for a cake that big. I usually use 2 in a 12 x 18.

Good luck!
