Can anyone tell me the best kind of cakes for carving. Any and all suggestion are welcome. Thanx

Hi Geomc, firstly welcome to CC - you will learn a lot here. 95% of the cakes I make are carved cakes and I find mud cakes are really good for carving, they are dence and excellent to use. I have used other flavours but the majority requested by my clients are mud cakes anyway.

pound cakes or maderia sponges are good ones too.
