I have only been baking about 8 months... but am finding that it is the most addicting hobby EVER!

For my first post here at Cake Central.. I am doing the unthinking and asking for your critique! I would love to get better... but I think I need some feedback from the pro's! (thats you)

(and if I added pictures all wrong I am so sorry! I tried to add more then one but couldnt... you can see them all on my baking blog link above...Sorry! Still trying to figure things out!)

this is called making a grand entrance and issuing a major smack down challenge!

You

ARE

GREAT!

(are you sure you're not a Martha Stewart protege with that polka dot theme -- talk about executing it to PERFECTION!)

there is only 1 thing where I can do HA! -- I make a BIGGER mess than you do! so there -- at least i'm better (?) in one thing!

-----

totally impressed with your creativity and that flawless smoothness to your icing -- not to mention your fun, breezy style of writing too. (hmmm...tell me when you find that sarcasm font -- I need it for work!)

----

You're a great new addition to the CC family --- just be warned: this site is addicting!

You ROCK girl!! icon_surprised.gif And you have something that lots of us don't (especially me!) and that's creativity!! I'm always struggling to find ideas for my next cake and you have come up with all sorts of cute ideas. I think a little more practice and you will be UNSTOPPABLE! Good job thumbs_up.gif

(Oh, and I never lie.... I'm that friend will tell you that your butt DOES look fat in those jeans, lol) icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

Your cakes are awesome. Am I right in think you bake each layer separately for all of your cakes? I love all of the layers in your cakes and I'm wondering if baking separatly is better than torting.

I just added your blog to my favorites! It's beautiful and creative (I have problems on the creative side icon_sad.gif ). I love how you did the graduated colors cake. I did a rainbow cake for my son's birthday at his demand...uh..request...and I baked six different layers (no, I don't think anyone uses indigo anymore). I loved the look, but it's use is kind of limited to kids. However, the graduated colors would look cool in any cake!

Anywhoo, keep up the good work! You're off to an amazing start.

Anyways keep up the great work icon_biggrin.gif www.amyatlas.com

ahem. icon_rolleyes.gificon_wink.gif

while for some odd reason when I was still a tenor, I used to be mistaken for a lady when speaking over the phone, now, due to age and gravity, I'm finally a baritone! --- great, just when I get the voice for the dark romantic lead, it's too late to look it!
