So I made my 2nd batch of MFF (first one ruined by a paper towel). It was a little dry but I didn't have any more glycerine so I tried using veg. oil. It seemed better but when I tried to get it on the cake, it cracked and started falling apart. Is there something else I could have done to get it to the right texture?
Right now I am off to mix up a batch of MMF but I was hoping to have this done before the kids got home from school.
MFF is the only fondant I use. I never buy or make anything else. But you have to follow the receipe and the directions just as they are written or it will NOT turn out right for you. It is a high quality fondant if prepared correctly.
The receipe states that the measurements for glycerine, gelatin, etc. have to be accurate for the receipe to work. I follow the receipe just as it's written and have NEVER had any trouble with it. It is hands down the best fondant I've ever used.
I followed the directions to a tee. I measured everything perfectly.
