Hi, has anyone added rum syrup to cakes before? I mean after baked..I've never added any flavored syrup before and my friend wants a rum cake for her shower, I know I need to make a simple syrup and add the rum when syrup has cooled, but I don't know when to moisten the cake... Please help..
What we do:
After I level the layer before the filling I simple syrup the layer, filling, place the next layer then simple syrup it. On occation I have simple syruped the bottom and top side of the layer, when I needed the rum stronger. Hope this helps.
