Is Tylose powder the same thing as the Wilton Gum Tex powder?

Similar but not the same.

I want to say Tylose is a name brand of CMC powder, and that you can get CMC powder cheaper.

If you are just adding it to fondant, gum-tex would make it dry faster/harder. I use it all the time in that application. But I wouldn't use Gum-Tex to make a gumpaste recipe like Nic Lodge's that calls for Tylose.

What should I add to MMF to make it dry harder so I can use if for flowers to decorate on buttercream?
