Ok what you guys think looks better when you stack a 2 or 3 tier cake? Having 1 1/2 inches or 2 inches left over on each side. Like using a 6 & 9 inch or a 6 & 10 inch
Either will work. There are even people that stack with only an inch around the edge. That looks okay if it fits the look of the cake, but I usually prefer the 3 or 4 inch difference in sizes.
I don't think it matters a lot. For several years the tight, tall look was what was "in." I just go by the number of servings needed. I do a lot of 6/9/12/15 for 185 servings. But then I do quite a few 6/8/10/12 for 134 servings, too.
same here, its either a 6" 8" 10" 12" or 6" 9" 12", I go by the number of servings they need.
