Has anyone used Solo brand raspberry cake/pastry filling? Is it any good? I saw it in the baking aisle at the supermarket, it comes in a can. I need a raspberry filling for a cake but am not able to get the kind in the sleeve. I tried a homemade one but did not like it.

Yes, I have used it. It was a tad "looser" than the sleeved fillings, but worked in a pinch. It had a good flavor.

Thanks! That was what I was thinking. Do you think there is anything that can be done to it to thicken it?

You can cook it on the stovetop and add some cornstarch to it - that would thicken it up.

I just made sure I had a good stiff dam and used it out of the can. (and I put a thin layer of buttercream on the bottom cake in case it might have tried to "seep" into that bottom layer)
