Next up a Saturn five rocket cake for a friends sons 4th birthday. I am planning on this one being relatively tall, since I gained confidence with the guitar cake standing upright.

As usual I plan on a to scale cake and I have already downloaded the scale dimensions. I am thinking at least 36" tall but only six inches round. Going to use a 1" PVC center support with acrylic bats in between three or four layers at a time.

Since I am not confident yet on my own recipe of cake it will just be Duncan Hines and I will concentrate on the decoration mostly.

Do any of you have any you have any thoughts on how many layers between the bats? I was thinking three but I have never made something this tall.

Oh yeah, the whole thing is going to be three inches off the ground so that the sparklers can be lit to simulate the rocket engines
