Ruffled Tulip Help!

I am doing a Twilight cake and I am having some major trouble figuring out how to make the ruffled tulip. Can someone help me!

make the petals for the tulip, then take a tooth pick and gently roll it on the edges... it should make it ruffle.... just be careful not to tear it.
