If you are using the Wilton standard Wedding serving chart , with a per serving size of 1" X 2" X 4" to 6" high , there would be 98 servings .

I have a list of all the pan size servings in my photos if you would like to copy it.

It depends, is it a 1-layer or 2? A 1 layer 14" will serve 63 and a 14" 2-layer will serve 98.

The wilton serving guide is based on cakes that are 4" to 6" tall that would be 2 layers or 4 layers if torted.

I have never seen anyone do a 14'' square as a 1 layer. Usually only sheet cakes are 1 layer.

The match doesn't add up here. A 1 layer will feed more than half of a 2 layer?

Figuring a serving is the standard 8cubic inches (so 2x2x2 on the one layer and 1x2x4 on the 2 layer) 1 layer would serve 49, and 2 layer would feed 98.

JamieAnn, Some people do a 14" square as a one layer, all depends on the design and what the customer is looking for. Sometimes one layer is perfect if you're adding smaller cakes on top, or need a larger space for design but not as many servings that a 2 layer would serve.

Makes sense... I have just never seen it done myself and i would probably still torte it so it at least had some filling in it. (I like filling )
A 14 inch 1 layer just seems too much like sheet cake to me . Like you said though maybe that is what the customer is wanting . and i forgot to comment on the servings but yeah 1 layer is only 49 servings
