I just received a request to make 3D basketball shoes and have no clue how to go about charging this? I know it'll have to be carved and covered in fondant. And there are a lot of details...how do you price this? It'll be a pair...

I charge $5.00 per serving for my 3D Cakes so...If the basketball shoes feed 30 people then the cake would start at about $150.00 depending on the extra details. Some charge more but that is about the going rate.

I price all my cakes the same way. I work out how long it is going to take me to make it and multiply this by my hourly rate then add on the cost of the materials. I quote delivery charges separately if the customer/venue is outside my free delivery zone.

I'd say this cake is likely to be pretty expensive as there will be lots of carving and a tricky shape to cover.
