Those look like rosettes made with the 1M tip.

Yeap! they are Rosettes 1M tip.

thank you. Do you mind telling me if I have to put some icing to cover the cupcake first and then do the swirls, or....?

Also, where do I start, at the tip or around the edges. Any tips would be appreciated.

thank you very much. This will be the first time making a giant cupcake and cupcakes with a princess theme so I thought those swirls are sweet and girly.

Wow I hadn't seen the large cupcake with the rosette treatment it is so beautiful!!! I have the 3D sheep Easter pan and the rosettes make the most precious sheep fur=o)
