So I am making my first gift bag cake for my niece's birthday and I have a question.

What is the best way to lay the fondant on the cake? I've never made a cake this "tall" or this shape before so I'm worried that the fondant won't lay well if I drape it over top like normal.

Does anyone have any tips or advice on what the best looking and most efficient way to cover this cake is??

I would really appreciate all the help I can get.

Thanks everyone!!

When I made mine (see my pics), I made the panels ahead of time so they could dry. I mixed some tylose powder into the fondant. rolled them flat and cut them to size. I attached them with melted chocolate. I didn't want to risk them sliding off the buttercream.
