I have been asked to do a royalty themed cake for a church. They want the deep purple with a crown on top and various jewels and things representing royalty. No Problem! Then she tells me she wants it to be a sweet potato cake. I have neer made one and was hoping someone could help me. Will it tast ok with a buttercream under the fondant or should I use a maple flavored icing???? I'm lost. I want the cake to look good but taste good too. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! TIA

Sweet potato cake sounds wonderful. icon_smile.gif

Don't know if I'd like maple, though. Cream cheese, cheesecake or vanilla flavoring would be my choices for both fondant and buttercream.

These flavors can be found at: www.nationalflavors.com or www.LorAnnOils.com

Thanks JanH. If I do use the cream cheese do I need to keep in fridge? If so will it effect the fondant. Thanks so much for the help

ok so Jan H I guess it's just too early in the morning. I just realized you meant the flavorings and not actually cream cheese icon_redface.gif Thanks again for your help
