Hi all! Just found this website and this is my first post. My mother in law's birthday is next Saturday and we are giving her a surprise party. I am in charge of the cakes and her grandchildren are very picky so I am going to make a Magnolia Bakery vanilla cake and also chocolate cupcakes.
I am going to go simple on decorations-multicolored pastel sprinkles on the side of the cake and am stumped as to how to decorate the chocolate cupcakes so that they will look nice. I am not really a cake decorator but can handle a frosting bag. Can anyone help?

Also, if anyone has a suggestion about decorating the white cake, I am sooooo open to suggestions!!! My mother in law is such a wonderful lady and I want this to be such a special day for her!
Many thanks!!!!!!

Really simple - frost the cupcakes with a big swirl, using a large star tip. You could always toss a few sprinkles on top to match the side of the cake.. Usually kids love sprinkles.
