I am making a chocolate wasc cake for my sister's birthday and I halfed the receipe since I don't need that much cake. After putting it in the oven I realized that I used 1/2 cup of oil when I should have used only 1/4 cup icon_razz.gif Can someone please tell me if my cake is going to be okay or am I going to have to rebake? This is for my sisters birthday and I want it to be good. Anyone?????

I made a big sheet cake once and added 1 cup of oil instead of 1/2 cup. turned out fine.

Should be fine, be careful when moving or torting as it may be more delicate - but it should still taste great!

Thank you for responding. It's out of the oven and looks fine but I wanted to be sure it was going to taste okay since it's for my sisters birthday icon_smile.gif

It should be fine. They might be a little moist, and/or greasy, but still good.

Cake Man Raven's red velvet has 1.5 cups of oil in it (for a 2 layer 9 inch cake). It stays moist for a while, but gets oil on the cupcake liners and the cake board.
