I just started using it myself.. There is a YouTube video called "Satin Ice Demo" and if you watch it (I can't post link because I am at work and they block YouTube) she says that she suggests using crisco (just a little on your hands) over using corn starch or powdered sugar. It works for me. She also uses her silicone mat to move the fondant to the cake. I love that.

I started having the same problems with Satin Ice a year ago. I now use Crisco and don't have the problem at all....just a light coating on your counter/mat. Make sure you are not rolling it too thin either.
