Okay - so I just have to share a happy, fun non-cake moment!
I have done theatre, community theatre for a loooong time (since junior high) and haven't been able to do anything since about 2005 due to the whole cancer business and Jonah's autism business (school was super, super rough and is getting better!)....
Anyhoo....I auditioned for Steel Magnolias Tuesday night and I was cast as Shelby Eatenton! I am soooooo excited! I can barely contain myself!!!
I've been so busy with life that I didn't fully realize how much I missed it. But, man, when I was on the stage auditioning I realized it! I've been nuts all week waiting for the cast list!
Thanks for letting me share my excitement!!!
1) BREAK A LEG
2) of course you're making the armadillo cake -- aren't you!?!? hint hint
Definitely the armadillo cake!
Congratulations---such exciting news for you!
Congratulations! I would love to do something like that someday. SM is one of my favorites, I'm sure you'll be a wonderful Shelby!!
Yay way to go!!
The armadillo cake kills me.
how cool is that?? congrats on landing a great part!
Just wanted to reopen this thread because...
TODAY IS OPENING DAY!!!! YAY!
I'm sooo nervous. I did the math and I haven't done a show for this theater for 8 years!!!! EIGHT YEARS!!!!! I've done musicals with the other group in town in the meantime, but I didn't realize it had been so long!
We are doing shows every day this week - matinee today and 7 pm shows through Saturday. I just wanna get the first one done so I can feel more confident. The entire cast is just awesome and we work so well together. Really, I think this is the easiest cast I've ever worked with. Or maybe I'm a little less high strung this time? No - I don't think that's it!!!
You'll do great Good luck and be sure to give us an update as to how everything went.
Congrats! What great news after the tough time you've had. Enjoy every second!
That is soooo cool!!!! Please let us know how it's going! Maybe you could post some pics??
It is going FABULOUSLY!!!!
I look like a goob in all the pics, but here are some from our Tuesday night show. I'm Shelby (long blond hair in the first act, short in the second).
We are having a TON of fun and the audiences have been telling us that it is the best show they've seen there in years!
