When I opened my new can of shortening it looked different from the other stuff... I bought Walmart brand vegtable shortening... I looked at the can and it has no transfat...what will this do for my icing?
The non trans fat Crisco has been out for years and I haven't had a problem with it, though I know some have. I believe you can add milk instead of water to help, or try IndyDebi's recipe since she has also said she hasn't had a problem with the no trans fat crisco and her recipe.
The only time I used Great Vaule Shortening (which was serveral years ago) I didn't like it. It left the greasy mouth feel that I have never had with Crisco (before or after the trans fat was removed.).
