Why is it everytime i put fondant on my cake I always get bulges. If I put thin icing under the fondant I can see all the layers of cake. If i put too much icing it seeps out the bottom.. what am i doing wrong??? Do i need to carve my cake more around the sides??

you might be rolling your fondant too thin. Try using a thicker piece of fondant.
