I have cupcakes I am making for work on Thrusday. I really should cook them tonight but really have no energy. If I cook them tomorrow how long should I let them cool before icing and decorating them. I usually make cakes and I freeze them atleast overnight so I am not sure about cupcakes. I am using the shortening/buttercream icing.

TIA

I would just make sure they are completely cool before icing, you can speed up the cooling by putting them in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes until all the way cool.

Once out of the pans, the cupcakes should be completely cooled in about 30 minutes.

just till they are cool enough for your icing not to melt, maybe 2 hours if not less

I usually let mine cool about 20 minutes or so before I frost them.
