I need to make a strawberry WASC cake. I use the version with egg whites. If I substitute the white cake mix with stawberry cake mix and the vanilla/almond flavorings with strawberry flavoring (prob Lorann flavoring oil) will that work?? I need it to be sturdy as I am going to make a topsy turvy with it. Also, if I put extra powdered sugar in the cream cheese icing will that keep the cake sturdy enough?? I'm very worried about the cake falling apart... Thanks!!

I prefer using strawberry cake mix with strawberry extract & whole eggs. The Jello version was too sweet for my taste.
