i wonder, if you could try adding an edible glitter to your gumpaste and kneading it in. ive used edible glitter and sparkley dust alot brushed on top of my cakes but never mixed in, so im not sure if it would look sparkeley, or just gritty . . .but its gotta be worth a try on a small piece to see if it does work.

when you make that effect on the concrete, you pour the cement mix and then put some like sprinkles on it and let dry. I will try to make the same to achieve that same effect on your fondant. Roll it thick put the sprinkles roll again and cut the star. I think it might work. Let me know if you have any success.

There is a post not too long about about the marbling of the Hollywood star, you may want to look it up. It was suggested to do a sponge paint method on it. You could even sponge paint with luster dusts.
