Make a 1/2 sheet (12"x18") cake that is as tall as you want the pickle to be (anywhere from 4" to 6" I'd guess), then carve the shape out of the cake. Ice w/ green BC.

my no waste method:

start with 9x13.

divide in half lengthwise

then cut each piece on diagonal as show.

flip one half of each piece over and push together as shown.

layer on the other two pieces same way

trim the pointy side to curve.

put trimmings into dented side to make a curve

add half rounds stacked to each end.

have at it with BC / fondant.

(would easily scale up for other size sheets)
