O.K.....I see in the WIlton book, there are grapes that are covered in gel, then coated in clear flakes. Looks super cool, but has anyone tried it? I am doing a wedding cake in May, and they are using Grapes in their decor......Please Help with ideas.

Beaten egg whites, brushed on to dry grapes, sprinkled with crystal sugar. Allow to dry. It looks very pretty.

You can also use the wilton "sparkles" - I put them in a thumb pepper grinder to make them smaller pieces - you can just grind them right above the grapes that have been painted - I do it over a paper plate so that I can reuse the sparkles that don't adhere.

I use meringue powder/water and sugar.

I would brush a very thin coat of piping on the grape, and then dust with cyrstals.
