Hi!
Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the large opened book pan??
What size board would I need?
And how many cups of batter does it need?

I have an order for one, and have to give the price tonight, but I won't buy the pan until I know for sure they want the cake.

Thanks!! icon_smile.gif

Ok... You will need half sheet board and box... this cake serves 30 people with generous slices, it doesn't give dimentions but you will need 2 cake mixes it says.. Hope that helps as that is what the insert says... good luck!

Thanks TinaRe,
Two cake mixes? Would you or anyone else, happen to know how many cups of batter that is?? I'm making my cake from scratch.

Thanks

I have been told that one mix will yield about 4-6 cups so to be safe i would go with at least 9-12 cups! I hope that helps once again.

HI!

It's roughly 12x18 and I use 3 BC mixes (about 4 cups) to make sure it is really full. So I would say 11-12 cups. You will end up trimming some off but IMO the book looks so much better when it is fuller(thicker)

Thanks, sweetie,

Does anyone know how deep this pan is??
Will one layer be okay? Or will it need to be mounted on a regular sheet?

One layer should be just fine if you make it really thick. How many does it need to feed?

Ok. Just checked, it's about 1 1/2 inches on the ends and about 2 -2 1/2 at the thickest part.

Thanks to both of you again.

I'm going to confirm the order tomorrow, and then buy the pan, so I'll be able to see it myself. But I needed all this info so I can give the right price.

I think they wanted the cake to feed 30 people.

Thanks again.
