I have NO idea where to even start with this cake. All I know is I'll somehow incorporate the sports ball pan to either make a full or half soccer ball.

How can I make this theme into a sweet 16 cake, without it looking boyish?? My immediate thoughts were greens and blues, but that's too boyish for sweet 16 I think. How can I incorporate sweet 16 colors and patterns into a soccer themed cake?

Any help appreciated! icon_smile.gif

What if you make a round/rectangular base cake, and place a half soccer ball on top? Then you could frost the base cake in a light green color, but add some white/pink flowers. Somewhere on the side or top of the base cake (depending on the size) you could add some text (e.g., "Happy Birthday", "Sweet 16", etc.), and you could put "16's" on some of the white pentagons of the soccer ball.

I have 1 idea:

Make 1 round base cake and make from white fondantthe outside, make it in the shape of a half ball, decorate it with black pentagons.
You could add some text if you want.....
