cook a pound cake in a fluted pan? Never made one before and I don't have a fluted pan. Will my cake turn out ok if baked in a regular 8" cake pan?

Thanks icon_confused.gif

I've made pound cake in 8"x3" and they turn out fine, just not as pretty as a fluted or bundt pan.

oh i just remembered, sometimes the tops of mine bake up a little above the rest of the cake and get brittle. Like a thin pocket of air formed underneath the crust, you know? When I flipped it out of the pan, a small circle on the top crumbled. The cake was baked done thoroughly, though. Like I said, just not as pretty.
