thank you all so much
the spirals were easy and fun
I rolled out fondant thinly, and took a metal yard stick and a mini pizza wheel and took off thin strips of fondant as long as I could get them, and rolled them up tightly and then simply loosened them up a bit and laid them on parchment and tray to dry; but first I shaped them to fit into each other two to four spirals each and made groupings of about 12 so I knew I would have more than enough. I let them dry for a day or two so they would not fall apart when putting them on - I do this trick a lot for many things ie. the design on the top tier sometimes they get brittle and break but its a lot easier to deal with when they are hardened.

thanks for the questions I love helping when I can and I never seem to have confidence in my advice so this is where I know I can help so thanks
and thanks for all the complements - so much fun, makes all the stress worth it!! you all are great.
