Hi,
I'm looking for a dairy-free cake filling recipe - maybe a chocolate mousse. Anyone have any great recipes?
I don't want to fill the cake with jam - the family won't approve!
Thanks!
Of course, the first thing that comes to mind would be Rich's whipped non-dairy Bettercreme. Unfortunately, Bettercreme and most other non-dairy products contain milk protein (but no lactose).
Bettercreme Ingredients: High fructose corn syrup, water, partially hydrogenated palm kernel oil, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, contains less than 2% of the following: Sodium Caseinate (a milk derivative), soy protein concentrate, polysorbate 60, carbohydrate gum, sugar, salt, artificial flavor, soy lecithin, polyglycerol esters of fatty acids, to preserve freshness (potassium sorbate), xanthan gum.
Non-dairy advertising can be very misleading:

Thanks so much! It has to be absolutely dairy free for Kosher reasons. I'm very accustomed to hidden dairy, so if I see a Pareve Kosher symbol on it, I know there is not even a trace of dairy in it (the Rabbis are very strict about this).
