I have to make a cake that is a little face with a hat on a bit like a clowns hat. The brim to the hat and the bobble on top are piped to look fluffy I think using a grass tip from what I have read on here. I dont pipe, any ideas on how I could create this look in fondant?

remember, you are allowed some artistic liscense! whatever you do, it will still be a clown, with a hat. i will say that piping with a grass tip is not difficult, and that you may just want to go buy the tip.
otherwise, what i am imagining is a sausage of paste, rolled to be the brim (flat or thick) just with straight lines across it.
