Baking In Clay Flower Pot

Hi,

Is it possible to bake in a clay flower pot.I have to make a flower pot cake and am not very skilled when it comes to carving.SO was wondering if i could bake a cake in a real clay flower pot?
WIll it have to be greased like regular pan?
Any ideas/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'm not a health expert, but my first reaction would be NO!!!! It's made for plants, not for food.

I may be wrong, though. I hope someone more knowledgeable answers.

I have done this in the past, not for selling it was just a practise one. I bought a new pot, scaled it with boiling water, lined it with greaseproof paper so the cake never actually touched the pot and it worked great x
