Good morning everyone...... I'm going to make a yellow and white checkerboard cake for a bridal shower ( I THINK ! ) It will wind up being 4 or 5 inches tall because of the checker pattern... Any suggestions on a filling I can use between the layers that won't make the cake any taller than it will be already ? She is using yellow AND orange Gerber daisies, so I could also go with the orange instead of yellow..... At this point my brain is FRIED....... HELP PLEASE ? !
How about a thin layer of ganache,you could do it with white chocolate and color it.Or a thin layer of lemon/orange curd.
