When I turn it on the part that holds the blade (the square box thingy) makes a loud noise, similiar to a printer when the ink cartridges move over for replacement.
Don't know if that makes since, but is it supposed to make a noise?
I already "modified it" so I don't think my warranty will cover it if it's already broke.
I've only used it 3 times.

That should be the "normal" noise. If you are concerned please call and I would be glad to listen to it over the phone and give you my opion. We use 4 expressions daily. My numbers are 318-308-1474 and 318-308-8629. I am currently doing a blog about the expression and the cake at www.cuttingedgecakeart.com

Whew, thank you! It made the noise the very first time I turned it on, and since I've never heard one before I did'nt know what it was supposed to sound like.
It works fine and I'm loving it!
I will keep myself update on your blog.
I can't wait to do my eyelet lace for this weekends cake, no more uneven or jagged edges for me!
