Hello All,

I am going to make a medium sized motorcycle cake for a birthday. Problem is that I want to make the motorcycle 3-D and out of cake if possible. How would I keep the motorcycle standing up if it is made of cake? I was thinking of making the motorcycle out of rice crispy treats if worse comes to worse. Thanks!

I would make the motorcycle out of rkt or gumpaste and have a sheet cake underneath. I just don't see how you would have enough actual cake to feed people otherwise, you know what I mean?

I made a 3-D motorcycle out of cake. You can see it here:

Judging from the cakes in your gallery, I see no reason to believe you can't do one
100 times better than mine.

The body was 11 inches from front to back x 5 inches wide x 6 inches tall. The front wheel itself was 2 inches diameter x 3 wide. It was approx. 30 servings.

I started with an 11x15 and cut and stacked it. Then I used the carved pieces to add height at the front of the body and to make the front wheel. I placed dowels in the front and the rear.
