I have the honored task of making my niece's 2nd birthday cake. The theme is Minnie Mouse. While there are a TON of beautiful cakes in the gallery I just haven't seen anything 'different' or 'unique'.

Does anyone have any good ideas for something a little different than the polka dots and bow?? I will be doing a 6" cake for the birthday girl and that one will be polka dots with the bow and ears on it, but I would like something a little more unique for the 'main' cake.

Thanks in advance!!

if the cake has a flat Minnie then try making the bow with fondant/gumpaste 50/50 and have like a 3-D effect with the bow and make the bow with hearts instead of poka dots. HTH
