Yesterday I purchased a used 20 qt Hobart for $800. I think it was a good deal..........am I right?

They actually wanted $850 and I asked if they would take $800. Local purchase so there was no shipping charges either. I almost bought a new Anvil 10 qt for $1000. Glad I waited.

In my dreams I have a 20quart Hobart, then I wake up and make batch after batch of cake for wedding cakes in my kitchenaid, then the curse words start icon_wink.gif

Let me know what you find out about the servicing of the Hobarts....My hubby got a used one for me for Christmas, we replaced the worm wheel and bushing assembly for the transmission ourselves, and he's painting it candy apple red for me. BUT, I want to make sure that it is maintained correctly.....

i bought another used 30 qt on ebay...well it's actually a vulcan (almost said clingon ha ha) and a 20 quart i want to have looked at, guess i'll call the hobart guy in tulsa...

the 30 quart i already have was used when i got it...i've used the heck out of it....no troublles in 8 years.

You said your hubby is going to paint your hobart. What kind of paint is he going to use. And good luck with your hobart!!! I cant wait to get one!
