Hi everyone,

I am making a cake that's a replica of a Newfoundland dog. I plan on covering the whole thing in black fondant, but what's the best way to make it look like real dog fur?

I've done "cookie monster" fur successfully in fondant, by snipping at it with little scissors. But the Newfoundland's fur is more fluffy and delicate. Here's a good example of what they look like: http://www.osanewf.com/images/Newfoundlands_two_sitting.jpg

Thanks for the help!
Miriam

only thing i could think of is taking a thin knife and making alot of thin cuts, or use the smooth end of the stylest took and make smooth indention's kind of high and low. bump
