I am wanting to make some cookies and ice them and stick them in cello bags. I am not sure what kind of icing you use for this type of packaging, I know its not buttercream because it gets smashed up. does anyone know what kind you are supose to use and perhaps a recipe, thank you!

In the recipe section there is a recipe for Alices cookie icing. I like this one because it hardens enough to stack cookies but is still soft in the center. It tastes good too. HTH

Always looking for cookie icing's but could not find it under recipes. Do you happen to have a link? or the exact name of the recipe? Thank you.

I swear by Antonia74's RI. She is a saint for having shared it and a lot of us use it. Here is the link:

One thing of note is that she is in Canada and her MP has vanilla already in it, but ours in the U.S. does not, so I add flavoring. I used to use 1 tsp. pure van. extract during the last minute of mixing and if I needed it to be white or in a pastel color, I used ¾ tsp. instead and balanced the color with Americolor Bright White. Now I use Clear Vanilla by Spices Etc and I love it. It is all-natural unlike the others I found and gives a great taste. I also use a lot of other flavors by them as well. Here is a link to a posting that shows some of the Spices Etc flavors that Verano and I use, a coupon code for a first time order (if you ever wanted to try it) and some flavors that others use from other companies. I will say that I have been very happy with Spices and love that they are all-natural, but here is all of the info :

Some others here use a glace or glaze. GeminiRJ is a really talented cookier and I think that she posted the recipe she uses in a wonderful thread she did on outlining cookies. Here is the link to that:

Hope this helps! Have fun!
