So I am considering entering my first cake competition if I'm ready by then. But I have some questions cause I don't know too much....
1. what does it mean that my cake needs to be footed?
well I think thats all I really needed to know if I have any more questions I will report back here
You just need to put something under the cake board to raise it a bit so its easier to move around. I use those sticky felt pads that are designed to put on the legs of furniture to keep them from scratching the floor. Just make sure you get thick ones--the thin ones don't work very well.
At the San Diego Cake Club we prefer contestants to use push pins. At least 4. That way if a cake needs to be moved, it's easier to get fingers underneath the board. Good Luck!
