Substitute For 7 Minute Frosting?

A friend has asked me to make fresh coconut cake for her wedding cake. I have always used the traditional 7 minute frosting for fresh cocout cake, but don't think it will hold up overnight and unrefrigerated.

Any suggestions for what kind of frosting I should use instead? Will have to frost the cake 24 hours in advance, and leave at room temp.
