hi there, hopefully this site will help you with this question
there is a section on working from home and hopefull you will find the info you need from here,

i am also from the uk, i unfortunatly cannot sell my cakes whilst i am living in my currant property, as i am renting and the landlord wont alow it, luckily i enjoy cakes as a hobby, and my friends and families love the freebies. untill i get moved that is lol
