Hello,
I would like to get some wire and stick it out of my cake with some fondant on the ends! I know you can't put wire straight into the cake and I was going to put the wire through a coffee stirrer first. I have some flower wire but I find it is too flimsy and doesn't keep a straight line, it kinks and it is 18 gauge. I love it when the wire is perfectly straight? Any suggestions on the best gauge wire to use for strength to hold up the fondant and for straightness!
Thanks in advance!

You can use a 20 or you can put a few 18 together with florist tape.
If you want it really straight you can even use a skewer.
