I am planning a Wrestling ring cake. I am going to use spagetti noodles as the ropes. What kind of paint do u paint them with? Food coloring gel? Food coloring? Watered down or full strengh?

I made a wrestling ring just this past Sunday and I was going to use the licorice to make the ropes but the were too soft ( saggy) so last minute idea I used the spaghetti and i just left them uncolored ( lack of time) I spray can painted one and was working well but no time for me to wait till they would be dry that's why I left them unpainted. but if I knew the licorice wouldn't work for me , I would have painted them few hours before to let them dry. Spray can from Wilton did a good job on the one that I did. I didn't post that cake yet but I will try to upload the picture tonight. good luck
