Adding Ribbon To Swiss Meringue Bc

I have to add ribbon around the bottom of tiers on wedding cake for the first time. Cake will be iced w/ swiss meringue bc. My concern is will ribbon start to discolor as it sits on cake from the butter? Ribbon is a royal blue. Thank you for your help.
